Venice will continue to charge day visitors an entrance fee to its historic center in 2025. The measure aims to combat overtourism and preserve the city's cultural heritage.
📅 Dates and times when the fee applies
In 2025, the entrance fee will be collected on 54 days from April 18 to July 27, mainly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The fee is valid from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Dates when you will need to pay for admission:
April: 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30
May: 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30, 31 May
June: 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 June
July: 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 July
From 08:30 to 16:00
💶 Cost
• 5 euros — if payment is made no later than 4 days before the visit.
• 10 euros — if payment is made 3 days or less before the visit.
🧾 Who should pay?
The fee is paid by all visitors over 14 years of age who are not staying overnight in Venice.
🚫 Who is exempt from payment?
• Residents of Venice and their relatives.
• Guests staying overnight (they already pay the tourist tax).
• Workers and students studying in Venice.
• Children under 14 years old.
💻 How to pay
Payment can be made exclusively online through the official website: cda.veneziaunica.it. After payment, you will receive a QR code that must be presented upon entering the city.

After completing the payment, guests will receive a standard QR code to present to local authorities.

For guests on MSC Cruises cruise excursions only: For guests on MSC Cruises excursions, the access fee will be included in the excursion price. There will be no separate fee on board and no separate registration is required.
Important: Guests traveling to and from the Stazione Marittima cruise terminal to complete embarkation and disembarkation procedures are not required to pay, provided they do not enter the Ancient City.
🏝️ Important to know
The fee applies only to the historic center of Venice. Visits to islands such as Murano, Burano, Lido and Mestre are free of charge.
